effective targeting and segmentatons.

Does Internet marketing enable more effective targeting and segmentation's? give examples

Internet marketing does enable ASOS to more effective targeting and segmentation's. Because ASOS is only online business therefore all their activities take place on Internet for example through their website and other Internet tools they gain more customers.

Asos offer clothing and other fashion related items that are similar to designer fashion worn by celebrities but at a lower price they show actual photos of celebrities wearing a similar item of clothing that are being sold on their site this gives ASOS good image. More people would like to buy the products that celebrities wear.

ASOS target market segment is defined as their product line ASOS surveys show that their main target market is people aged 18-22 this suggets that ASOS target right age group for the products. also the fact that people within this age group are more skilful at with using computers as well as navigating the internet. In addition, they are also the ones who are part of the corporate world where everything is fast-paced that they do not have the time to go down town and shop for the clothes and other fashion items.

In relation to gender, eighty percent of ASOS shoppers are women, while only two percent are male This may be the case since most of the items that are being offered online are for women. In addition, the marketing activity of ASOS focuses on providing information to more women than men. 500,000 emails are sent to females twice a week compared to 100,000 emails sent to males only once a week. This suggests that more women shop online then men.

P1- how does Internet marketing help towards the achievement of business objectives?

how does Internet marketing help towards the achievement of business objectives?

ASOS is Internet business therefore all their objectives are linked to Internet marketing. ASOS objective is to be the leading fashion website in the UK and attract growing numbers of overseas customers. ASOS follow their strategy to achieve these objectives their strategies are:

1.Uncompromising Presentation
The ASOS website is our shop window and we will continue to
develop it to ensure that our customers enjoy their time on the site
and find it easy to find their way around it.

2. Incredible Choice
We will offer our customers the latest fashion with a target of over
30,000 options for the Autumn / Winter season. This will be driven
through both own label and branded products.

3. Delivering Impeccable Service
We will increase the number of delivery options available to
our customers.

ASOS number 1 objective is to make sure their customers enjoy using the website therefore ASOS update and redesign the website regularly so their customers are not board of it.

also ASOS aim their website at people aged 16 to 28 and the UK online shoppers statistics show that 72.5% of these people will shop online this year and this will go up to 75.7% in year 2013. this suggests that famous websites like ASOS can met their objectives easily as long as they keep their customers entertained and happy.

Also on their website they have incredible choice where ASOS offer it's customers with 30,000 options for Autumn/ winter seasons driven through both own label and branded products. this is an Internet marketing tool that ASOS use to achieve their objectives. through their website they offer 100's of other brands such as D&G, GUCCI, CK by Calvin Kline and many more. this helps the company achieve their objectives because they offer the products and brands that attracts their target market. The company provides it's customers with everything they need so they don't even think about shopping anywhere else.

The ASOS annual reports suggests that 51% of their female shoppers are aged 16-25 and 52% of the male shoppers aged 16-25. This suggest that the website attracts young people that's because younger people more integrated with Internet than older people it also shows how Internet marketing helps ASOS achieve their objective effectively.

My oppions- I think that as the number of online spppers is going up each year it makes it easir for ASOS to sell new products and meet ther objectives effectivly as long as the customers are satisfied with the product and the website they will always shop at ASOS.
